I know many marketers who host dozens of sites on the same IP number. Some of them with similar conent (but not duplicate - just in the same industry) and they have not been banned by Google. Well, Hostgator will only gives you one IP # with their basic plan, but you can purchase additional IP#s if you need them.

  If you are seeking a service where you can host mutliple accounts with Muliple IP Numbers, I would suggest IX Webhosting . We have been with them for about a year, and use them to host our more "established" sites. We started hosting with them at the peak of the "Oh your website must have its own IP #" rage. The service is good, its $12.95 a month and I can host 10 domains there with 10 different IP#s. Thats their biggest plan.

  They have plans starting at $3.95 . For $3.95 a month you get to host 2 domains with seperate IP#s. They will even pay for 1 domain name registration for you. They include the Site Builder package and have instant setup. So you sign up and you are working on your new site 5 mins later!

  For the more techincally inclined reading this, yes, they are all hosted on the same "C Class". :) There are services out there which charge outragous amounts for Muliple hosting with Muliple IP numbers, and on different C-classes. The cheapest I've found is about $90 a month. I'm not convinced that its necessary. I rarely cross link my sites unless there is something on one site that will benefit users on another site.

• Matt Cutts of Google (for those of you interested in white hat SEO, you should visit his blog) suggest that you build your sites with your users in mind. Not for the search engines. I keep that in mind. Oh heck, who am I trying to fool. There is NO WAY I'm paying $80 a month for hosting!

• My opnion on these 2 services: I truly feel both of these services are great. I currently run 18 different sites, and have them split between these 2 services. For the beginner I think Host Gator is the service for you. Really because of the Fantastico option. For the more advanced website owner, IX Webhosting . is a great service. Especially if you want muliple IP#s. So far we have not experience any outages. So I hope you have found this page useful.
